The little yellow chick :)

Raegan's last day of pre-k was Tuesday.
That evening they put on a play of The Little Red Hen.  Raegan was one of the baby chicks in the play.

Here's a pic of the little red hen and her three baby chicks!

Raegan also got medals for doing so well this year.  She got a medal for Honorable character, one for library (art, PE and library elective teachers each awarded one medal to a pre-k student), and got one of three medals given to the three pre-k students with Excellent grades on their report cards all year long.

She is really proud of her medals and we are really proud of her!

Today we enjoyed our first day of summer with a play date, school work (Raegan's choice), crafts, reading, swimming, and watching Frozen!

Looking forward to a wonderful summer with these two fun kiddos!

Six flags day date

As parents of two little ones, it's not always easy to get away for a date night. Philip and I have found that day dates, work pretty well for us!  We had a couple of day dates while we lived in Moore, when we would both take off for the day but would still take Raegan to daycare.  I think this was our first day date since moving back to Texas!

Ever since we got back from Disney World we have been wanting to ride high thrill rollercoasters, because the rides at Disney just didn't live up to our expectations!  Today we got season passes to Six Flags and spent the day just  us two riding the Titan, Batman, Superman, Texas Sky Screamer, etc... It was great! The weather was nice and the park was pretty empty, as it was the first weekday this season the park was open to the public and most children are still in school.

Love having fun with my best friend!

Raegan was in school today and Cameron had an all day play date with his best bud!

March madness!

I love that places in our community always have great events going on for the kiddos.

Today we got creative and built and painted a bird feeder (or it can be a bird bath) at Home Depot.

We haven't hung it outside yet, but I'll update with a pic of the finished product once we do.

My kids are obsessed with the baby chicks for sell at a local feed store :)

Here's a pic of Raegan and Philip building a birdhouse at Lowes a few weeks ago.  She's getting good with that hammer!

We spent most of March watching basketball (it's just something we do at our house), but we are all a lil sad neither of our Baylor bears teams made it to the final four this year!

Looking forward to warmer weather and spending more time outside!

Happy Birthday Ron and Philip!

This weekend we had a joint birthday party for Philip and his dad, Ron.  We invited a few family members and friends, cooked out, and ate cake.  The plan was to swim, but few braved the cold pool water!

Here's a pic of Philip, his nanny, and his sister, Melissa.

Best buds! Brad and CB were groomsmen in our wedding.

Like father, like son... Both these men share a love for fishing so I had the bakery make a fishing themed cake for them.  We also had pudding dirt cups, goldfish crackers, and Swedish fish candy to go along with the theme.

Raegan helped blow out the candles!

Let the little children come to me

Perhaps one of my proudest mom moments to-date occurred today in Raegan's Sunday School class.  There was a new little girl in Raegan's class who was not happy to be there, AT ALL; we are talking crossed arms, pouty face, silent treatment from a 5 year old, mad.

After playtime and story time, I tried talking to her about her feelings and then I asked her to find a seat at the craft table.  She sat next to Raegan.  She was obviously still unhappy while the other children were coloring and sewing with green yarn on their craft.  I asked her if she missed her parents and she stopped crying and shook her head yes.  I explained that they would come back for her in a little while and asked if she knew why they had brought her there.  She shook her head "no."  I explained that they brought her to Sunday school to learn about Jesus and then asked her, "do you know who Jesus is?" She said, "no."

That's when Raegan piped in and said in the most concerned voice, "mom, she doesn't know Jesus? Why doesn't she know who Jesus is?"  Then Raegan and I had a little conversation right there in front of our new unhappy friend but it was almost like a side conversation in a play that the third party isn't suppose to hear.  It went something like this:
Me: well some people don't know Jesus and we are suppose to tell them about Jesus and what He did for us so they can be happy.
Raegan: "so God wants me to tell her about Jesus?"
Me: yes!

Raegan to our unhappy friend: "did you know Jesus had nails in his hands?"
Unhappy friend listens but then shakes her head no.
Raegan: "yep, real ones" pointing to her palms on each hand

Me: yes and He died for all of us

Raegan: "and when I get a booboo we pray to Jesus and He makes it all better"

Unhappy friend seems interested yet understandably confused as all get out (my dad always uses that phrase ('all get out')).

Anyways Raegan waited with our unhappy friend to finish snack before heading out to play and she prayed for her in her prayers tonight, "God help her to know You."

Wow! Lord, thank you for using my daughter to witness to others and as a constant reminder to me of your goodness! Let our prayer be to help us to know You more!

Mother's Day 2014

Saturday night we went to bed late and since we knew Philips nanny, mom and sister would tend to the kids if they needed anything we turned off the baby monitor before going to bed! (Huge blessing!).

We didn't wake up till around 7am which is later than normal for us (sad I know).  Raegan brought me strawberries with chocolate in bed and we ate leftover donuts from yesterday morning. (Healthy stuff, right!) but no one had to make breakfast which was a plus!

Philip took his mom, dad and sister to see his (I mean our) new boat dock and to look at some different properties in our neighborhood, while I bathed the kids and got ready for church.

Philip got me a sweet Mother's Day card, he knows I like cards.  (Love language = Words of appreciation)

After church we went to Cracker Barrel with Ron, Cindy, Melissa and Nanny.  I ordered blueberry pancakes! Delicious! I can totally eat breakfast anytime of the day!  We relaxed Sunday afternoon/evening around the house and then Philip and I watched Amazing Race after we put the kids to bed, simple and perfect ending to my Mother's Day!

Cameron at 18 months

Stats: 31in tall, 22lbs 13oz

Says: mom, milk, more, uh oh, dada, ball, bird, moo, bug, bubble, nurse, again

Signs: more, bird, please, shoes, eat, I don't know, come on, shakes his head for yes and no

Loves to dance and spin in circles.  Big time eater! Peeled his own banana before inhaling it and asking for more!

Will bring you a diaper and lay it on the floor and lay down on it so you can change his diaper and takes it to the trash afterwards.  We are taking baby steps in potty training but still need to get a potty for downstairs.

He loves to cuddle and be held.  He plays well with his friends and sister.

His favorite books are ten little ladybugs and waddle.  He still takes two naps a day and sleeps for about 11 hours each night!

He can open and shut doors, climb up on the dining room table, and buckle himself in his highchair.

His dr informed me that he's no longer a baby but a toddler because his soft spot is gone! He starts Mothers Day Out next month with his big sister; they are going to have so much fun!

Here are a couple of recent pictures of our toddler!
