Life lately

Wow, this summer is flying by and I'm loving it! I love summer, but especially this one because it's been full of snocones, pool time, and fun!

This is the first summer I've gotten to really enjoy with Raegan.  She enjoys dressing up as princesses, pretending to teach school, swimming, watering her sunflowers, coloring, and snacking all day long!

Cameron turned 19 months old this week.  He's been doing pretty well at MDO, but always cries at drop off time.  He still communicates mainly by signing. He enjoys dancing, "reading" books, playing outside and making messes!

Philip's dream of living on the water is coming fulfilled as he added on a floating dock and stairs down from our property towards the dock.
In progress...

I just finished a week of teaching 4,5, and 6 yr olds for VBS.  It took a lot of planning to keep the 15 of them entertained, but it was a great experience!

Children's pastor getting 'slimed' because the children beat their $500 goal of raising funds for missions by over $1400!

Also that awesome swing from the first pic of Raegan on this post Philip made!  It also was the cause of this:
Terrible rope burn on Wednesday!  Then the pic below is from Monday (5 days later) that I sent to a friend with essential oils and asked for any kind of relief!
After coating it with lavender oil for a couple days... Here's the most recent pic of it (9 days after accident):

Staycation

We've decided not to take a big vacation without the kids this year like we normally do.  Now that we are in the DFW area there's so much to see and do here and I honestly feel like I'm in vacation when I'm out at our new home.

After teaching Sunday school, Philip and I planned on taking one of his directors and his wife to a Ranger's game. But as with most things when you have two kids things are never that simple.  We decided to ask Philip's parents to watch the kids for the long afternoon, but instead of asking them to drive all the way to our home we decided to get a hotel room in Arlington for them to hang out at while we were at the game.

It worked out really well and we decided to just go ahead and make a tiny vacation out of it.

The grandparents kept Raegan and Cameron entertained at bass pro shop in Grapevine before swimming at the hotel. Philip and I enjoyed the game with friends in Chick-fil-A's suite even though the Rangers didn't win.

Back at the hotel, Raegan loved the idea of getting to sleep on the pull out couch and Cameron seemed excited about exploring a new environment.  I suggested we just order pizza or eat at the restaurant in the hotel, but Philip thought going out to a Hibachi place sounded better.  (He was so wrong ;)

Dinner was an awful experience from the overdone filets to children throwing food and spilling drinks.  Philip tried to make up for it by taking me to get a milkshake afterwards.  Back at the hotel Raegan fell asleep watching Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs while we watched the 2nd game of the Finals.

Perhaps the best part of the entire trip was (besides Cameron waking up briefly to nurse) we got to sleep till 8am! So sad that this makes me so incredibly happy but sleeping till 8 is so very rare at our house!  We were out of the hotel by 9:20 and decided to spend our Monday at the new Perot museum in Dallas.

Here are a few pics from our visit; we are driving home now and I'm just wishing these kiddos would fall asleep for a nap!
