Recap of this week

Besides vacation bible school each morning this week had literally nothing scheduled on our calendar.  So instead of spending all my free time scrubbing down the house I spent a lot of time playing with and spoiling my kids!

Cameron and I had a breakfast date one morning after dropping off Raegan at VBS and then went to the library for storytime.  We all swam nearly every afternoon and ate snocones at least three different days this week!  Most of this week I was Raegan's BFF and "the best mommy ever" except for when I put her in timeout or didn't let her have a brownie ;) She did get two fish and two aquatic frogs this week which made it "the best day ever!"

We always put our kids bed to early and enjoy a little peace and quiet in the evenings.  One night this week, Philip and I watched Ender's Game.  I had read the book in 9th grade and loved it and the movie didn't disappoint.

Friday night we went out to dinner with the kids in tow.  It definitely wasn't a quiet dinner, but all in all not too bad. Cameron is boycotting highchairs so that makes eating at restaurants a little less fun.

Saturday morning Philip helped me load the kids and their giant stroller in the car and the kids and I headed to the Peach Festival.  We had heard a lot about the Peach Festival last year, but were too busy unpacking and fixing up the house to go.  This is a picture of the kids on a train ride at the Peach Festival.  We went early to beat the heat and the crowds!

And even with as much as my children fight with and pester each other sometimes they have really sweet moments like this one we caught of Raegan reading a story to Cameron while he sat in her lap.

Friends and fun on the 4th!

This weekend marks our 1 yr anniversary since moving into our home.  We celebrated the 4th with some of our best friends from Amarillo.

We met Jackie and Tim during college when they lived next door.  One day I called maintenance because water was leaking through in our dining area of our townhome.  We lived between two other units and I was pretty sure which one the water was coming from.  Jackie (who I hadn't met yet) knew about the water, but wasn't home and hadn't called maintenance yet because they didn't know about her sweet puppy maverick yet.  So I think I kinda got her in trouble when maintenance opened her door to find a flood and puppy chew marks in her  apartment.

Sorry Jackie! But the "great flood" brought us together and even with an unfortunate start our friendship has been great ever since.  Jackie is the kind of friend that we don't have to keep up with each other every day but can pick up right where we left off months ago like no time has passed.

Even though we live far apart we try to see each other at least once a year.  Tim and Jackie have two daughters who are each 3 months younger than my two kids.  So when Jackie told me she was pregnant with their third I was like but wait I'm not 3 months pregnant!  They are expecting a lil boy in September who I know his big sisters are just going to adore!

Here are some pics of Raegan and Maddie throughout the years.

These two stayed up late giggling three nights in a row.  Raegan gave Maddie a BFF necklace, they played Little Mermaid in the pool, went fishing with their daddies, cheered at the 4th of July parade, and they fought like sisters ;)

Here are the little rugrats:

This weekend was great just spending time with these long time friends! Love them!

Baby nephew

Can't believe I haven't posted about my sweet baby nephew!

I was there with my sister at the hospital for his birth and I'm taking care of him for couple days this week!

My kiddos love him!  Raegan likes to play like she is his mommy and my sister and Cameron wouldn't let him go last time we let him hold him!

He's a cutie and such an easy going baby!

Love him and so proud of my sister as the great mommy she has become!
