Video of Raegan putting her baby "night night"

Thank You

"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Raegan's newest phrase: "Thank You"

I'm pretty sure she learned this at daycare, but I am SO happy about it.  Besides amazing smiles, hugs and kisses up to this point motherhood has been give, give, give and to be honest its very hard (especially during the "no" stages); its not often you feel appreciated.  But Raegan has more than made up for it this last week.  I love that she understands when its appropriate to say Thank You and she does it without me asking or encouraging her to.  A couple of the times I remember when she told me thank you today are: when I helped her get a toy that she couldn't reach, when I got her a snack to eat, and when I helped her put her shoes on.  She is such a sweet girl.  We had a really good Saturday together : )

I LOVE HIM!

Have I mentioned how much I love my husband lately?
On Friday I got off early, and Philip invited me to meet him at the sno-cone place for an afternoon, childless date!  There's this cute sno-cone place we like to go to; its not your typical trailer in a parking lot sno-come stand, it is actually inside a shopping center and has outdoor and indoor seating, a flat screen tv, etc...
I got paradise ( I think that's what it was called) it had peach, blackberry, and orchid vanilla and Philip got yellow cake batter with marshmellow topping (sweet tooth?)! It was so nice to be able to sit and enjoy a dessert with my hubby without getting a sno-cone spilled in my lap or having to chase a loud toddler around.
Here are a couple of pics we took together

Raegan's 18 month check-up

Such a good sleeper, Tuesday night she asked to go to bed at 7:30p.m. and didn't wake up till 5:30 the next morning.
Sitting on our island in the kitchen and giving her daddy a little smirk ; )

Here are her stats from her doctor's appointment on Wednesday:
31 inches tall - 31st percentile
20 lbs 7.5 oz. - 4th percentile
head circumference- 91st percentile

The doctor said that she thinks Raegan is getting enough nutrients to grow taller, but not enough calories to gain weight (in the last year she's only gained like 2 lbs).  Anyways now that she is only in the 4th percentile for her weight we will have to have more check ups, than originally planned.  The doctor said it was probably just because she is so active and burns oof all her extra calories. The doctor wants us to feed her fattening foods, so Philip called me Wednesday afternoon when I was on my way home from work and told me they were eating cheetos and hot dogs, gross that makes my stomach turn....

But I will try to be a better mom and give Raegan lots of ice cream! : )

OKC Regatta Festival

Just wanted to share a couple of pictures from last night when we went to the OKC Regatta Festival on the river.  As long as Raegan had her strawberry/banana smoothie; she was happy!

funnies

If I ever write a list of things I never thought I would say this would be on it:

"Raegan please don't lick lotion off your toes"

Also I stole this quote off my friend's blog:

If evolution really works, how come mothers only have two hands?- Milton Berl

Love it!

25th Birthday Weekend

A quarter of a century ago I made my grand entrance into this world at Midland Memorial Hospital

This past week I've just started to realize how old I am... Like the other night when I was getting dinner for my team at Texadelphia I turned around and was shocked to see two young lovers behind me with their tongues down each others' throat... I was shocked like a prude old lady! Then on my birthday, Friday, I stopped by the donut shop right by the highschool before work. There were lots of what seemed like to me young kids and I'm sure they looked at me in my boring brown suit and closed-toed heels and thought gosh this old lady is taking too long to order... I mean it really wasn't THAT long ago that I was in high school (7 years), but I can't relate with them at all anymore... I have responsibilities, morals, and a brain now ; ) things that were often missing during my highschool years!
Friday night Philip took Raegan and I to Othello's for my birthday dinner. We started out sitting outside on the patio which was so nice until the sun went down and it got kinda chilly, we moved to a table inside where live music was playing. The atmosphere was fantastic, but I can't say the same for the service.
The pic above is of Raegan on the way to dinner Friday night.  She doesn't take a pacifier, but when she finds one, she likes to chew on it.

Saturday Raegan and I went to the mall to meet Philip for lunch and my mom and sister "surprised" us and met us there. My mom is worried that I don't spend enough time and money taking care of myself so she came up to take me shopping for my birthday - I have a really great mommy!

My mom and sister came over for dinner at our house Saturday night and then we all went out for frozen yogurt!  When we got home, we put Raegan to bed and my mom and sister, Jennifer, stayed at our house, so that Philip and I could go see The Social Network - great movie! It even gave a shout out to Baylor! Speaking of which if you got to see the Baylor football game this weekend, it was awesome! Baylor beat Kansas 55-7! Largest victory EVER for Baylor! Anyways I got distracted..where was I... Philip and I didn't get home from the movie till nearly midnight and he made the comment that we hadn't stayed out that late since college (sad but probably true).

Sunday morning my mom came to church with us at Journey. Here are a couple iphone pics we took at church.  I've misplaced my camera charger, so iphone pics is the best we have until I find it : /  I remember seeing it in the kitchen and thinking oh I need to put this in a better place, because it doesn't belong in the kitchen, but now I can't seem to remember where the "better" place was? Does that ever happen to you, or is because I'm getting old?

Sunday was such a gorgeous day! We visited the pumpkin patch and took some pictures, took a wonderful afternoon nap, and an evening walk around our neighborhood.  After our walk I was trimming the bushes in the front yard and look what I found...
Philip looked it up (of course he did he looks everything up) and its just a black and yellow garden spider, pretty awesome looking though! Once I saw it I decided I was done trimming the bushes ; )

Family iphone pics in the kitchen

PS - Phlip bought me a gift certificate to http://www.fifephotography.com/ for my birthday, so we will have MUCH better family pics soon ; )
